Activity 4: Blubber Experiment
Students will work with science
classes in groups of 4 - 6. One person from each group will access
Blubber
Glove or Blubber
Adaptation Experiment and will explain directions to his/her group.
A materials person will check that all needed items are on the table and
ready for use. A monitor will check to see that the calculator, CBL,
and temperature probe are ready to record. A recorded will make a
hard copy of students' experimental results.
Students will set up the experiment
as indicated on the Internet site.
They will use a TI83, CBL, and
temperature probe to obtain readings and changes in temperature as the
experiment progresses. A temp probe should be inserted into each
container of ice to record the cooling effect occuring while the test is
being run. Individuals will write a summary and explanation of his/
her experiences in the test.
