Lesson Plan Three







Grade level:  Second

Day One
1. Teacher will lead a discussion reviewing the characteristics of tall tales and story elements.
2. Students will recall characteristics in Steven Kellogg's Paul Bunyan .
3. Pass out completed story element worksheet from lesson two.
4. Cooperative groups will reread their tall tale selection.
5. Correct any errors and incomplete answers.
6. Cooperative group will discuss and choose a title for their PowerPoint presentation.
7. Each cooperative group will create Slide One of their PowerPoint presentation.


Day Two

1. Each cooperative group will create  Slide Two describing the setting of their book.
2. Each cooperative group will create Slide Three including two complete sentences summarizing the beginning of the story.

Day Three

1. Each cooperative group will create Slide Four including two complete sentences describing the main events of the middle of the tall tale selection.
2. Each cooperative group will create Slide Five including two complete sentences describing the main events of the end of the tall tale selection.
