Interview Powerpoint Click!
Teacher Notes:
Day 1: Go through the Powerpoint
Presentation dealing with
interviewing. Have students follow along and make additional notes
on their handouts. Stress the importance of the interview.
When the powerpoint presentation comes to an end, have them use the Internet
and search a few sites for additional information. Examples of these
are: SUCCESSFUL
INTERVIEWING , www.andrews.edu/CPPS/cho/choint.html
Tell them to come tomorrow with a job in mind and dressed
appropriately for an interview.
Day 2: This is Mock Interview Day! The students will split up into two groups and prepare a list of interview questions to ask. Teacher will be evaluating each persons questions and responses, and as a result, a grade will be assigned based upon the questions and answers given. Appropriate dress will also be evaluated. Tell students to study for a quiz tomorrow on the powerpoint presentation handout.
Day 3: Have a test on the Powerpoint presentation. Give 5-10 minutes preparation time. This is the time for the students to ask any questions that they may have. If time allows, let them search the Internet for jobs that may interest them.
Modifications: Appropriate for all subject areas.
Enrichment Activities: Each student will interview for a job of their interest. They would come to school dressed for the interview based on the job that I assigned them. I would then contact another teacher, administrator, etc. and have them conduct an interview with the student. I would video this interview and have a class discussion on how each interview could be improved.
Evaluation/Assessment: The students would receive a grade from the interview portion of the unit. This grade would be based on their dress, and how well they answered each question that was asked. Also, they would receive a grade from the written test that would be given on Day 3.
