Materials Needed:
Book Froggy Bakes a Cake”
2 cake mixes
2 cake pans
2 bowls
2 mixer or mixing spoons
2 measuring cups
Motor oil or butter with wrapping paper still on
Oven
4 mittens
Eating Utensils (fork, plate)
Recipe Chart with pictures and explicit direction
Tea Bags
Ingredients for baking cake according to mix

Teachers Note: Teaching safety of the stove and hygiene
 

Procedure:

Read the book "Froggy Bakes a Cake"

Discuss the book
1/2 of the students and the teacher or aide will follow the directions from the box exactly the way the box states such as add egg(s), adding the whole egg without cracking and put cup of liquid including cup with liquid.
1/2 of the students and the aide or teacher will follow the recipe chart with the more specific instructions.
While cake is baking, go to Frog Site or play frog game on the computer, print picture of frogs


Modification:

If you are working with Special Needs children, the ingredients could be pre-measured.
