is the drug that causes the physical addiction to cigarettes.
2) Students will recognize that smokers
use tobacco to avoid nicotine withdrawal and the signs of withdrawal.
3) Students will be able to retrieve
information about tobacco usage from the Internet.

General Hospital Inc.
Procedures:
1) Give students a brief
introduction to the lesson stating the final learner outcomes.
2) Focus Activity:Have
students tell about a habit they have such as biting their nails.
Have them explain why they continue their habit, even though it may not
be desirable. Explain to students that smoking is similar to these
habits, only worse because of the addictive drug nicotine.
3) Allow students to brainstorm aloud
the reasons people decide to smoke. List these reasons on the board.
4) List specific facts on the board
regarding nicotine.

facts about tobacco use based on the information you find.
