Grade Level (s): 8 and 9

Subject(s): Vocational/ Technical, English, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

Learner Outcomes: The student will:

Duration of Lesson: Two 45 minute class sessions-

Materials: Computers with Internet access, worksheets and writing tools.

Technology Tools/Courseware: Computers with internet access, Microsoft Office ( Excel )-

Teacher Notes:

• Students must have a signed 'Acceptable Use Policy' ( AUP) form to legally browse the Internet.
• Teacher needs to observe students to assure on task/responsible Internet behavior.

Procedures:


Modifications: Students with learning needs can work with a ' buddy' or other students who are more proficient with computer functions. Students with visual needs may need screen adaptations with font size, etc., or allow 'buddy' students to read information to them.

Enrichment Activities: Advanced students can be given this assignment at an earlier time to prepare a chart or graph of these clusters and the potential career choices to share with peers and teacher.

Evaluation/Assessment: Worksheets completed for this lesson will be added to the ongoing Portfolio collection for this unit.
