Teacher Notes:
Pass out And Then What Happened, Paul Revere by
Jean Fritz the day before the lesson begins so that students have a chance
to read the first block of assigned pages. Make sure all students
have the approved Internet permission form before using or viewing material
on the Internet.
Procedures:
1. The teacher opens the lesson by reading the
"Washington" poem.
2. The students will complete literature
circles and work on the contract activities including SOPs (summary,
opinions, and predictions).
3. The teacher will show the Interactive CD ROM
from Scholastic "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" using a data projector.
4. The class will discuss the poem.
Modifications:
The students will work in cooperative groups for most
activities.
Enrichment
Activities:
Students will access the following
site and complete some of the activities.

The students will create a timeline of events that occur
during Paul Revere's ride using a word processing program.
