| Materials | Art paper, Pencils (drawing and colored), scanner,
computer, photo manipulation software (not required but suggested). Part One- Class set of newspapers with comics, Scissors. Part Two- Internet access. Study of web pages on drawing cartoons. Part Three- Using art paper, draw cartoons. Part Four- Internet access. Study of web pages on creating comic strips. Part Five- Using art paper or in Microsoft Paint, create comic strip. Part Six- Using a photo manipulation software program, scan student comic strips to modify or improve quality for publication into Word. | |
| Enrichment activities | Clip comic strips and white-out talk and thought
bubbles. Duplicate and have students write in new text. Clip comic strips and cut in between frames. Have students practice putting frames back into sequence. | |
