| Description | Because HIV/AIDS is so prevalent today
not only in the US but worldwide, the students should be able to define and understand what they are. In studying this unit students should be able to explain how HIV is and isn't transmitted, list symptoms of HIV infection from mild to life threatening, explain how HIV enters the body, discuss types of treatment, and explain how they can protect themselves. Also, students should be aware of the compassion we need in dealing with these inflicted people. The students,in working through the unit, will also become familiar with the use of a computer and it's counterparts; i.e. word processor, a slide presentation, a digital camera, a scanner, the internet, and email. | |
